Implementation and Effectiveness of GIS in Education Dissertation Online
Now that had an article published in the May-June 2003 Journal of Geography
on this topic, I have placed my dissertation entitled "The Implementation
and Effectiveness of GIS Technology and Methods in Secondary Education" as
a series of PDF files on the following site:
http://rockyweb.cr.usgs.gov/outreach/articles.html
The 465 pages are divided up into 6 chapters, 35 appendices, indices,
bibliography, and a series of web pages. While I realize it is not about
to make the Amazon best-seller list (ha!), I have had several requests from
people over the years to provide an easier route to the survey, case
studies, and experiments than Interlibrary Loan. I remember how helpful it
was to me when I was beginning my research to be able to look at Steve
Palladino's GIS in education thesis online, and therefore I hope this is
helpful to someone in the future.
We *definitely* need much more research in this area, so please encourage
your students to pursue this field!
